Overview
An exciting opportunity has come available for a Volunteer Driver to transport patients to and from groups and appointments. The volunteer is required to work within the list of tasks identified as follows:
Provide transport for people wishing to get to appointments and groups. This may be to access health appointments, to participate in an activity or to assist in-patients with home leave. Offer reassurance and engage in conversation as appropriate during the journeys. Report any concerns to the Supervisor / Service Manager.
Please note:
mileage and out of pocket expenses will be covered; proof of a clean driving licence, insurance and MOT is essential for this role.
We welcome applications from individuals who may require sponsorship [if eligible] under the skilled worker or health & care visa route. Please note, not all vacancies or applications are eligible for sponsorship.

- Able to follow instructions
- Tidy and methodical
- To be punctual and reliable
- Interest in working with people with mental health conditions and/or dementia, and/or physical health needs
- Ability to communicate with a range of people with diverse needs
- To adhere to the dress code for the area in which they volunteer. To aid recognition by staff, patients, service users and visitors you must wear your at all times.
- Be able to work as a member of a team.
- To behave professionally and treat others with dignity and respect at all times and adhere to the principles of the Trusts Equality and Diversity Policy
