Nutrition Adjunct Faculty - Remote

South College on ground/online seeks candidates for an adjunct Nutrition faculty member. Successful candidates will have a terminal degree in Nutrition, and preference will be given to candidates who have successfully taught Nutrition in the online format. The position is online remote and will report directly to the Operations Manager of Faculty Affairs.
Specific course is Nutrition
Nutrition in Health and Disease covers the roles of the macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and water), micronutrients (vitamins, minerals, bioactive substances such as fiber, phytochemicals, and others), and dietary patterns in metabolism, wellness, and prevention and treatment of disease. Major topics include digestion, absorption and transport of nutrients, metabolic pathways, nutritional supplements, dietary recommendations, nutritional assessment, and chemical composition of foods, various types of malnutrition, and food safety.
Requirements
Education
A minimum of an acceptable doctoral or master’s degree in the discipline, and satisfactory completion of 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline
Experience
- Prior teaching experience and/or practical/clinical experience in the discipline preferred
- Excellence in postsecondary teaching preferred
