Job Summary
UCSF Occupational Health Services provides occupational wellbeing services to support the UCSF employee community. To succeed, we develop partnerships and care delivery models that require strong project management, leadership and support. The Program Manager will oversee continuous improvement initiatives, streamline workflows, and manage complex projects in Occupational Health, including Respiratory Viral Illness work groups, Flu Outreach and other programs, hotline & contact‑tracing workflows, communication of organizational changes, and monitoring program performance metrics.
Responsibilities- Lead and facilitate Respiratory Viral Illness work groups and Flu Outreach programs.
- Coordinate the Flu Outreach and immunization program, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and crafting communications with the OHS Administrative Director.
- Partner with clinical leaders to ensure successful implementation of patient and employee workflows across all teams.
- Oversee continuous improvement initiatives, streamline workflows, and manage complex projects within Occupational Health Services.
- Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training.
- 5 years’ experience or equivalent education, training and experience to meet the expectations for the role.
- 5 years’ recent experience in healthcare project management, performance improvement or quality improvement.
- 2 years’ recent experience in health system administration, ambulatory, primary or specialty care.
- In‑depth knowledge of Occupational Health Services delivery system reform and accountable care standards.
- In‑depth knowledge of medical terminology and patient health information.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access), with the ability to run analytical reports and summarize information.
- Advanced organizational and project management skills, ability to lead stakeholder meetings, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule.
- Advanced critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, capable of managing highly complex information, assessing problems, and developing effective solutions.
- Advanced interpersonal skills for collaborating effectively with a broad range of clinical and professional staff.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely and produce high‑quality documents, reports and presentations.
- Advanced ability to influence and persuade staff, management, and clinicians at all levels and across departments.
- Ability to exercise professional judgment in handling sensitive and confidential issues.
- Excellent analytical, program and project management and independent problem‑solving skills.
- Highly proficient in multiple software applications (Trello, database applications).
- Ability to demonstrate excellent judgment, attention to process and detail.
- Able to receive and provide direction and collaborate with various positions and personnel levels within a complex organizational environment.
- Able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Master's Degree in health care administration, nursing or another health field.
