The Integrated Health Solutions (IHS) practice at Berkeley Research Group (BRG) provides end-to-end advisory support to healthcare providers, payers, investors, and other stakeholders navigating complex strategic, operational, financial, and clinical challenges. Led by seasoned healthcare executives, operators, and clinicians, IHS partners with organizations to drive sustainable performance improvement and long-term growth through strategic growth design, operating model transformation, AI and digital enablement, clinical quality and patient care optimization, and revenue strategy—helping clients build resilient, future-ready healthcare enterprises in an increasingly complex environment.
Service lines and focus: The CPI service line emphasizes long-term, sustainable improvements in patient care operations through collaboration across the care continuum. It includes four pillars:
Care Transitions, Emergency Care Solutions, Perioperative Services Optimization, and Clinical Nursing Operations (CNO). This position is with the Clinical Nursing Operations pillar, which aligns staffing and resources to improve workflow efficiency, reduce external staffing reliance, lower costs, and improve nursing-sensitive quality indicators.
Responsibilities:
- Learn and execute Project Manager Office (PMO) responsibilities under the direction of the project Client Services Executive and project Engagement Director, including developing travel logistics files, negotiating hotel room rates, coordinating travel among team members, and communicating on-site schedules to clients
- Review and approve travel expense reports
- Support engagement director in coordinating and scheduling client meetings
- Develop and coordinate client-facing materials (e.g., assessment slides, executive steering committee decks)
- Other duties as assigned by the project engagement director
- Support project work streams under the direction of a SME or serve as SME in core knowledge areas, including assisting with assessments, implementing client processes, and providing timely feedback
- Develop project plans and client deliverables for smaller-scale projects; independently implement client deliverables
- Lead work teams toward future-state processes and independently meet with clients to advance deliverables
- Submit complete, accurate, and on-time expense reports and time entries
- Contribute to internal firm advancement through participation on teams and task forces
- Notify superiors when bandwidth for additional utilization exists
- Engage in professional development and contribute to the firm
- Willingness to work in other service lines as directed
- After 1 year, serve as a buddy for summer associates and new hires at various levels
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in clinical performance improvement consulting or 5–10 years in a relevant industry role with appropriate licensure/certification and at least two years in a leadership role (e.g., nurse manager; Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or PMP certification)
- Bachelor’s degree in health or related field;
Master’s preferred. Candidates without a Master’s must enroll and earn degree within three years - Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience with Tableau preferred but not required
- Understanding of labor productivity concepts and benchmarking
- Analytical skills related to projects and supporting SMEs
- Time and resource management skills
- Expanded operational knowledge of inpatient nursing and care models
- Strong expertise in workforce and productivity infrastructure, including staffing to demand
- Change management skills to guide process redesign and sustainable improvement
- Ability to interface with client nursing and labor initiative leaders
- Ability to participate in inpatient nursing initiatives and lead smaller initiatives to drive efficiency
Working Conditions:
