Job Summary

Hywel Dda University Health Board is offering a fantastic opportunity for a Rotational Specialist Physiotherapist to join our dedicated team in the stunning county of Pembrokeshire. This role gives you the chance to develop your skills across varied clinical areas while making a real difference to the health and well-being of our local communities.

Current Rotation- Medical/Respiratory
- Orthopaedics
- Stroke ward
- Community settings, including a rehabilitation ward
- Intermediate Care Team.
We are looking for enthusiastic, positive and motivated individual(s) that have the skills and ability to motivate and engage with their patients and can work independently.
They will lead and adapt to innovation and service developments. They will support supervision and training and have the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a team. Experience of NHS working is desirable.
The University Health Board proactively supports training and development both as part of internal and external CPD.
Main Duties of the JobWe are looking for individuals with great interpersonal skills to network with acute and community colleagues to co‑ordinate a responsive, seamless service across pathways and sectors.
The successful post holders will have organisational ability and a commitment to service development. They will develop the evidence base for evaluation through audit, clinical effectiveness and research activity, and, as appropriate, there will be an expectation to deputise for senior management.
As a versatile postgraduate, they will need to have a strong clinical grounding in older people rehabilitation, expertise in falls and frailty syndrome, neurological conditions, Cardio‑Respiratory conditions and MSK problems. They will have a good understanding of current issues affecting community services.
They will work autonomously as highly skilled practitioners managing a clinical caseload of patients with diverse and complex health and social care needs, alongside members of the MDT in a managerial and clinical role.
They will provide clinical leadership, specialist expertise and supervision to junior physiotherapists, physiotherapy support workers, students and generic rehabilitation assistants. There will be a strong educational element to the role as a clinical expert.

The post holder will be required to participate in the provision of a flexible 7‑day service and participate on the respiratory on‑call rota with adequate training as required. This will be on a rota basis.
The ability to travel is required and, although based in Pembrokeshire, there may be times where it will be necessary to travel.

Person Specification Qualifications & Knowledge Essential- Professional registration as recognised by HCPC.
- CPD evidence.
- IT skills.
- Postgraduate evidence of specialist education.
- Post‑graduate qualification up to post‑grad diploma level in relevant specialty.
- Clinical Education Training Course.
- Member of C.S.P.
- Active participation of specialist interest groups.
- Post‑graduate experience in relevant clinical specialty.
- Completion of junior competency framework.
- Practical experience to a level that would enable participation on the respiratory on‑call rota.
- Therapeutic handling and risk assessments.
- Managing a diverse caseload using a clinical reasoning process.
- Inter‑professional and team working.
- Evidence of supporting service compliance with clinical governance requirements.
- Experience of staff supervision.
- Direct involvement with carers and families.
