Position: Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist - Per Diem - Remote - 8hr QVH

What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Facilitate the quality, completeness, and accuracy of clinical documentation through interaction with healthcare providers
  • Ensure documentation accurately reflects patients' clinical conditions and level of service
  • Communicate with providers to address missing, unclear, conflicting, or unsupported diagnoses
  • Assign appropriate MS-DRG/APR-DRG, severity of illness (SOI), and risk of mortality (ROM)
  • Apply principles of clinical validation in compliance with AHIMA/ACDIS guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Medical degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year of inpatient coding experience or experience as a Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist in an acute care setting
  • Strong knowledge of MS-DRG, APR-DRG, and ICD-10-CM/PCS coding guidelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ACDIS Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or AHIMA Certified Documentation Integrity Practitioner (CDIP) required within 1 year of hire/transfer
