About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Planning & Development, the Operations Consultant (Practice Support Programs), is responsible for working with the broader Primary Health Care (PHC) team to advance the strategic and operational priorities of the portfolio. The Operations Consultant (Practice Support Programs) has a responsibility for supporting the overall coordination of the planning, development and implementation of the activities assigned under the direction of the Senior Director and Senior Medical Director for the Primary Health Care and Chronic Disease Management Network.
The scope of practice will include various roles as facilitator, coordinator, communicator, and planner. They work according to the mission, vision, values and policies of NS Health and the Primary Health Care and Chronic Disease Management Network to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of PHC practice support and capacity building programs, services and initiatives throughout the province. The Operations Consultant’s activities are guided by PHC priority areas, the groups they work with and by community needs and therefore require a professional approach.
This work requires recognition and application of best practice, evidenced informed decision making and practice facilitation to build capacity and enable practice change/practice improvement. The Operations Consultant, Practice Support Programs, will have areas of focus related to facilitating the adoption and optimal use of digital health technologies including electronic medical records within primary health care, as well as other priorities as identified by the Network, clinicians, physicians, and leaders in PHC.
Location is flexible within the Province and will be determined based on the successful candidate, once identified.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Baccalaureate degree from a health discipline/health science field
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience considered an asset
- Minimum of 3-5 years' working experience and responsibilities in a senior coordinator position or equivalent
- Experience in advanced use of digital health care technologies, including Nova Scotia electronic medical records used in Primary Health Care settings ( Telus Med Access and QHR Accuro), considered an asset
- Experience in quality and process improvement methodologies, such as LEAN/Six Sigma/Model for Improvement, considered an asset
- Experience in planning, coordinating, delivery and evaluation of PHC and community-based initiatives
- Experience with in a health-related environment preferred
- Experience in a primary health care / community-based setting preferred
- Experience in program and service development, implementation and evaluation required
- Knowledge of disease prevention, health promotion, chronic disease management, and population health preferred
- Experience in competency-based professional development / learning and group facilitation considered an asset
- Proven ability to work with diverse groups of people and perspectives
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Valid Nova Scotia Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle

Hours
- Permanent Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
- This position offers a Hybrid/work from home model
- Location will be based on the successful candidate
Compensation and Benefits
$39.29 - $49.12 hourly
