PurposeDevelop and implement strategies and community events to engage with the community, promote services, and build relationships with stakeholders for Care First Blue Cross Blue Shield Community Health Plan Maryland (CHPMD).
Essential Functions- Develop Outreach Strategies:
Create and implement effective outreach strategies to promote CHPMD in Eastern Shore Maryland communities. - Community Engagement:
Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations, stakeholders, and the public to foster collaboration and support. - Events:
Work with community partners and attend (e.g. table, provide education workshop, present on CHPMD Medicaid benefits) a minimum of 10 events per month, workshops, and initiatives to raise awareness for CHPMD. Assist in planning CHPMD community events in Eastern Shore Maryland, to include, but are not limited to:
Events for Doulas, CHPMD Informational Sessions, Health Fairs, etc. - Monitor Effectiveness:
Track and report on the effectiveness of outreach strategies and programs, making adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes. - Provide Resources:
Offer information and resources to the community about Care First Medicaid. Collaborate with Medicare team to identify opportunities to provide education on Medicare plans. - Research Community Needs:
Conduct research to identify community needs and demographics, informing outreach strategies and program development.
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Marketing, Business or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Experience: 3 years progressively responsible professional experience in public health or closely related field.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Aptitude for community building, interacting across diverse stakeholders strategically, tactically, and analytically.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Salesforce CRM tool
- Excellent organizational skills and project management skills to manage multiple work deliverables simultaneously.
- The position will require that Outreach specialists often work in various settings, including nonprofit organizations, healthcare facilities, and government agencies.
- This role involves both administrative tasks and fieldwork, requiring flexibility and adaptability to different environments and community needs.
- An independent means of transportation is required for local travel to client locations and events.
- You must have the ability to work outside of standard business hours, with occasional early mornings, early evenings and weekend work.
$61,560 - $122,265
