Full-time Residential Program Assistant

This group home position earns a competitive wage of $19 per hour plus a sign‑on bonus of $600. We provide resources to more than 850 individuals with developmental disabilities across locations from Brigham City to St. George, offering day programs, residential living, art center programs, summer camp, and supported employment opportunities. This assistant supports 7 individuals at the Lakeview Residential Home in Orem. The team includes a Program Coordinator, 2 Program Assistants, and 5+ DSPs. Daily duties involve caring for clients with high medical and personal care needs, frequent assistance with moving or transfers (including lifting up to 50 lbs), and high behavioral needs. You will help execute activities in communication, social skills, safety, recreation, leisure, and other skills to promote independence.
Additional responsibilities include staff training, shopping, menu planning, medical appointments, client finances, and collaboration with the Coordinator on in‑home and community activities.
- 6+ months experience working with individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities
- Ability to complete required training within 3 months of employment
- Ability to produce and review typed business letters, reports, and accurate numerical records
- Personal and reliable transportation
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and proof of insurance
- Ability and willingness to drive large program buses and vans, and train new employees to drive large vehicles
- Working knowledge of Therapy software
- Basic computer skills
- Leadership skills
Experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviors is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication, multitasking, time‑management, problem‑solving, teamwork, and composure in stressful situations are also required.
Work ScheduleThe typical schedule for this position is:
- Sunday – OFF
- Monday – OFF
- Tuesday 2:30–10:30 pm
- Wednesday 12:00–8:00 pm
- Thursday 6:00 am–2:00 pm
- Friday 6:00 am–2:00 pm
- Saturday 2:30–10:30 pm
Flexibility is required for staff coverage, emergencies, agency events, and may include day, swing, overnight, and weekend hours.
