YES Prep needs a dynamic Speech-Language Pathologist with a robust set of experiences, to make our mission a reality. As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, and build transformative relationships.

To put it simply, you will work to support the communication needs of students identified with speech impairment by completing full and individual evaluations for students. These evaluations will determine initial or continued eligibility for speech and language therapy services. You will also provide direct therapy to a small caseload of students based on your clinical interests; and convey clear and concise updates regarding student progress towards speech goals to staff and families during ARD meetings.

Speech-language pathologists who meet the required credentials may also have the opportunity to mentor and supervise SLP-Assistants, graduate students, or clinical fellows. The speech language pathology team is expanding due to the continued growth of our schools and student population, and the speech-language pathologist will join an enthusiastic, supportive and collaborative team.

THE ROLE
  • Administering, scoring and interpreting norm-referenced and qualitative speech and language assessment tools to determine initial and continued eligibility for speech therapy services;
  • Producing high quality evaluations for students that reflect thoughtful analysis of the student’s strengths and weaknesses, and can be meaningfully explained to both families and other professionals;
  • Participating in IEP meetings for students identified as having a speech impairment to provide updates on progress, develop new goals and make recommendations to the ARD Committee;
  • Collaborating with a bilingual speech language pathology assistant to ensure the provision of superior direct and indirect services to students with a speech impairment and development of activities that are evidence-based and uniquely tailored to student needs;
  • Providing speech and language services to a reasonable caseload of students with a wide variety of needs;
  • Collaborating with family and staff to communicate speech therapy procedures, progress and opportunities for generalization beyond the therapy setting;
