This post is offered on a 10 PA basis per week, though we are happy to consider applications from those wishing to work part time.
Some remote/home working can also be accommodated to support flexible working arrangements. There is no current on‑call commitment, as out‑of‑hours reporting is fully covered by a tele‑radiology service.
While the primary focus of this role is to support the Breast Imaging service, NHS Highland offers a wide range of specialist radiology services. We actively encourage and support the development of additional specialist interests in line with service needs and the applicant’s professional goals. Prospective applicants are invited to contact the department for an informal discussion or to arrange a visit.
You will be part of a team based in the Highland Breast Centre who provide a comprehensive service for the Screening and Symptomatic patients. In 2024/25, 14,700 women were invited to attend the Breast Screening Service and approximately 280 patients in NHS Highland and the Western Isles are diagnosed with Breast Cancer each year.
Applicants must be on the General Medical Council Specialist Register with a Licence to Practise, working towards CESR. We understand the constraints you can face when moving jobs, which is why we offer a substantial Relocation Package for new permanent members of the team.
