Role Overview
This is a part‑time Patient Service Representative role focused on helping patients access care across multiple specialty clinics. You’ll handle high‑volume inbound calls, schedule appointments, share preparation instructions, and support patients with clear, accurate information. Training is structured and supportive, and the role begins fully remote.
What You’ll Be Doing- Scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling appointments for multiple providers.
- Answering a high volume of inbound calls using scripts, decision trees, and scheduling guidelines.
- Sharing accurate information about directions, hours, providers, and referral or authorization status.
- Determining the right appointment type and urgency based on established criteria.
- Sending clear written communication to providers and care teams.
- Explaining pre‑procedure steps, labs, and specialty‑specific preparation instructions.
- Supporting new patients with how to access available services.
- Using systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athena, and Microsoft Office.
- Pay: $20.00/hour.
- Schedule:
20 hours/week. - Requires one 8‑hour shift on Monday.
- Additional 4‑hour blocks scheduled between Tuesday–Friday (options vary, flexible as long as 20 hours are met).
- Training: 4 weeks, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm (remote).
- Work Setting: 100% remote from day one.
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
- Helping patients resolve needs on the first call whenever possible.
- Communicating clearly and professionally with patients and medical staff.
- Staying flexible and able to problem‑solve within established guidelines.
- Meeting accuracy, attendance, and call‑handling expectations during and after training.
- Must‑Have
- 1+ year of experience in a patient‑focused or healthcare environment.
- Strong medical terminology understanding.
- Experience with patient access, registration, scheduling, or healthcare call centers.
- Ability to follow scripts, policies, and scheduling rules accurately.
- Comfortable handling continuous phone work.
- Ability to work any assigned hours Monday–Friday between operational hours.
- Nice‑to‑Have
- Medical Assistant or CNA certification.
- Experience with Epic, Cerner, Athena, or similar systems.
- Bilingual Spanish.
- Background supporting specialty clinics (OBGYN, Pediatrics, Radiology, Surgical, etc.).
- Someone who enjoys helping patients and solving problems quickly.
- Someone who is detail‑focused and follows established procedures well.
- Someone comfortable learning a large amount of information during training.
- Someone who communicates clearly and stays calm during busy call periods.
- Someone flexible with scheduling and open to feedback.
Contract to Hire position based out of Las Vegas, NV.
