DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Human Services Analyst, you will independently review, interpret, and analyze statewide Medical Assistance policies for a diverse range of programs, including maternal and pediatric care, specialized therapies, and long-term nursing services. You will:
- Act as a subject matter expert, developing official procedures, standards, and handbooks that govern delivery and payment of services.
- Manage policy areas such as Healthy Beginnings Plus, early intervention, traumatic brain injury, and school‑based programs.
- Coordinate provider payment operations and monitor federal and state laws for departmental compliance.
- Evaluate court decisions and regulatory shifts to determine when policy revisions are necessary for existing programs and new initiatives.
Work Schedule and Additional Information
- Full‑time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch.
- Telework:
You may work from home part‑time up to three days per week. This requires a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and an approved Pennsylvania location. Telework availability is subject to change. If telework is not possible, you may report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. - Salary:

QUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
- One year of professional experience developing, implementing, or evaluating human services, social services, health care services, or health care insurance programs and a bachelor’s degree;
or an equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of professional experience in these areas. - You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link to Residency Guidelines.
