We are hiring immediately for a full‑time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE) position.

  • Location:

    THOP Sierra Medical Center – 1625 Medical Center Drive, El Paso, TX 79902. Online applications accepted only.

    Full‑time, Monday through Friday; hours may vary. Weekends may be required. Additional details upon interview.
  • Requirement:
    Prior dietary aide experience is required.
  • Pay: $13.50 per hour (fixed).
Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility and provide services that include helping patients make menu selections, assembling, delivering, and picking up their meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure compliance with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
  • Collaborate with the caregiving and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies or sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences, or additional selection requests.
  • Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s selections in a timely and accurate manner. Retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
  • Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO requirements; adhere to facility confidentiality and the patient’s rights policy as outlined in HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Follow Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines when handling food, cleaning workstations, and performing food‑prep activities.
  • Apply facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
  • Assist dietitians in monitoring patients who cannot eat food (a “maltreated” diet) and manage specific calorie or nutrient requirements.
  • Communicate concerns with appropriate personnel in a timely manner, following department protocols.
  • Complete all daily, weekly, and monthly reports as outlined in the Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and departmental sanitation procedures.
  • Perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 100 pounds, including maneuvering food‑delivery carts.
