Our District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence within each pharmacy by acting as a role model for all, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for the pharmacy team. As a DSP, you will cover pharmacist scheduling gaps, support pharmacy teams, and oversee the day‑to‑day management of the pharmacy under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager and Rx District Leader.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.

• Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator.

• Oversee the pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap.

• Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures.

• Assume the Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on‑duty.

• Foster positive patient experiences through empathy, coaching the team, and resolving insurance or medication issues.

• Offer and deliver immunizations, supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn immunization.

• Manage pharmacy inventory, focusing on cold chain products and best practices.

• Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe and inclusive team dynamic.

• Keep clinical and technical skills current through training, CMEs, and continuous learning.

• Improve patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care (e.g., COVID/Flu testing, hormonal contraception).

• Comply with all federal, state, and company policies, including controlled substance dispensing, privacy, and safety.

Required Qualifications
  • Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).

  • Concentrate on tasks over time and pivot quickly to meet patient and business needs.
  • Verify prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
  • Show friendly customer service and team orientation.
  • Use verbal and written communication skills and active listening.
  • Apply mathematical reasoning for dosage calculations.
  • Resolve challenging interactions by choosing the best course of action.
