The Division of Clinical Informatics (DCI) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) was established in 1970 as a pioneer in using technology to enhance patient care, medical education, and research. The division is committed to improving doctor-patient relationships, advancing medical education, and optimizing healthcare delivery through innovative technologies. Current research areas include clinical decision support systems, patient engagement, mobile health applications, global e-health solutions, and translational research platforms.

DCI also offers diverse training programs, including internships, fellowships, and international collaborations, to support the next generation of clinicians and researchers.

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Research Assistant  role is based in Boston, MA, with flexibility to work from home part of the time. The Research Assistant will support research projects by collecting and analyzing data, conducting literature reviews, assisting with grant writing, and developing reports and presentations. Responsibilities also include coordinating project activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining accurate documentation of research progress.

Qualifications
  • Strong research skills, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation
  • Proficiency in academic writing, literature reviews, and creating research reports
  • Experience with statistical software and data visualization tools
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills for project coordination
  • Effective collaboration and communication abilities to work across interdisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of clinical informatics or healthcare-related research is preferred
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public Health, Healthcare, Computer Science, or related discipline)
  • Familiarity with IRB processes and grant applications is a plus
