Position: Options / Adoption Counselor

Legacy Adoption Services is a faith-based agency dedicated to creating loving, traditional families with compassion, professionalism, and respect for all individuals involved. We serve as a bridge between birth families facing unintended pregnancies and adoptive families seeking to grow their families. Our compassionate team provides birth parents with information about their options, including adoption, parenting, and the realities of other choices.

Role Description

This is a full-time Hybrid Options/Adoption Counselor role based in Naples, FL, with the flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. The primary responsibilities include supporting and guiding birth parents through the adoption process, providing compassionate and empathetic counseling, maintaining effective communication with all involved parties, and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. The counselor will develop relationships with adoptive families, facilitate communication between birth and adoptive families, and provide education and advocacy regarding their options.

Administrative duties such as maintaining accurate records and documentation will also be key components of the role.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated skills in counseling, active listening, and empathy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with birth and adoptive families
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical considerations in adoption processes, as well as community resources
  • Organizational skills, detail orientation, and the ability to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to a hybrid work environment, and manage time effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field;
    Master’s degree preferred
  • Previous experience in adoption, counseling, or related fields is highly desirable
  • Commitment to values of respect, compassion, and professionalism
  • Proficiency with digital tools and technology used for remote work and communication
