DescriptionAs a Visiting Fellow, you will have an opportunity to contribute to research endeavors that include data maintenance, data analysis, data compilation, and project participation. This role will involve collaborating with research faculty, staff, and students and will expose you to various techniques, skills, resources, and mentorship within the Endocrinology Lab. Dr. Umpierrez’s research portfolio is not only extensive but also impactful, focusing on understanding the mechanisms for beta‑cell dysfunction in minority populations and on the prevention of acute and chronic diabetic complications and the hospital management of patients with diabetes and hyperglycemia.
Responsibilities- Collect, analyze, and interpret statistical data.
- Prepare reports related to research projects.
- Maintain HIPAA and confidentiality standards for all research data and enrolled study participants.
- Collaborate with research faculty, staff, and students.
- Attend lectures and divisional meetings.
- Participate in project development and receive mentorship from advanced‑level scientists.
NOTE:
Position tasks are generally required to be performed in‑person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employees.
