Refund Specialist III - Remote

• Validate and track credits due to insurance companies, patients, and other payers
• Analyze account activity to determine refund eligibility and ensure correct payment handling
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex refund-related issues
• Submit over payment requests in payer portals and prepare supporting documentation
• Maintain and process assigned work queue items accurately and within established timelines

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 5 years of medical billing experience
• Strong experience with payor contracts and knowledge of medical terminology
• At least 4 years of experience in posting payments
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with attention to detail

• Advanced office skills preferred
• Strong working knowledge of Excel
• Ability to identify trends in underpayments/over payments
