Position Summary
Reviews medical record documentation to determine appropriate billing codes and necessary documentation.

PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Reviews surgical documentation in the record to identify all pertinent facts necessary to select the comprehensive diagnoses and procedures that fully describe the patient’s conditions and anesthesia services provided.
- Codes evaluation and management services and procedures for pain management to appropriate CPT codes and diagnoses to appropriate ICD-10 codes.
- Codes evaluation and management services for critical care ICU to appropriate CPT codes and diagnoses to appropriate ICD-10 codes. Contacts with physicians to review documentation, resolve coding and secure signature of all unsigned dates of service, tagging files for follow up.
- Assists with efforts to increase physician awareness of documentation requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications- Must have one of the following coding credentials: AHIMA (CCA, CCS, or CCS‑P); AAPC (CPC, CPC‑A, CPC‑H, CPC‑H‑A, or one of the AAPC specialty‑specific coding credentials).
- Previous coding experience or experience equivalent to an associate’s degree in a related field.
- Knowledge of ICD‑10 and CPT coding.

Salary Range$25.30 – $37.94 per hour
