• Audit and resolve accounts with credit balances and outstanding balances
• Post payments and adjustments, ensuring accuracy with established fee schedules
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding service processes
• Answer incoming Patient Accounts calls as part of the accounts receivable team
• Collaborate with office managers to ensure quality data is obtained from staff and healthcare providers

• Associates degree in Health Information Management Systems (or related field) with 1+ years of experience in a healthcare billing and collections office, or Coding Certification/Billing Certificate with 2 years of experience, or 5+ years of experience in a healthcare billing and collections office
• In-depth knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes, Medicare and Medicaid billing rules, and insurance reimbursement methods
• Understanding of the claims appeal process and managed care contracts
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook

• Experience working in a federally qualified health center or similar healthcare setting
• Familiarity with practice-based research and innovative healthcare technologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
