Inpatient Coder II (Remote)
We’re seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder II to join our remote team supporting a high‑acuity, Level I Trauma academic environment. In this role, you’ll accurately assign ICD‑10‑CM, ICD‑10‑PCS, and MS‑DRG codes across a wide range of complex inpatient cases, collaborate with CDI specialists, and submit electronic queries when clarification is needed. Final date to receive applications:

- Code diverse inpatient specialties, including trauma and critical care
- Maintain 95% accuracy and meet productivity standards
- Assign POA indicators and support accurate DRG assignment
- Assist with mortality, rehab, and special case types
- Support denial rebuttals and participate in projects
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience as an inpatient coder at an academic facility.
- Required
Education:
Coding Certificate Program Completion or Associate Degree in HIM or equivalent.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree in HIM or equivalent. - Required Certifications & Licensure:
Certified RHIA/RHIT or CCS.
- Accurately assign ICD‑10‑CM, ICD‑10‑PCS, and MS‑DRG codes across diverse specialties (Neurology, Oncology, Ortho, Cardiology, Critical Care, OB/Newborn, Trauma, and more).
- Partner with CDI specialists to ensure complete and accurate documentation.
- Submit electronic queries to providers when clarification is needed.
- Maintain 95% accuracy, meet productivity expectations, and correctly assign POA indicators.
- Code a variety of specialized account types, including mortality and rehab cases.
- Assist with insurance denial rebuttals and participate in special projects.

This is a Contract position based out of Remote, OR.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
