** Altru Health System
PO Box 6002
Grand Forks, ND 58201
Pay Range: $ - $

* Summary:
** The Pharmacy Operations Specialist advances Altru’s pharmacy enterprise through margin-focused analytics and contract lifecycle management. The role builds data models that balance patient affordability, payer coverage, and organizational margin, recognizing that the lowest acquisition cost is not always the best total-value choice. The Specialist designs dashboards, evaluates payer and site-of-care impacts, stewards contract implementation (gatekeeping signatory packages), and partners with Revenue Cycle, Finance, Supply Chain, 340B, and Informatics teams to deliver compliant, cost-effective medication access.
This role requires a proactive, results-oriented professional who combines analytical rigor with tenacity—able to navigate complexity, close gaps, and advance initiatives efficiently while maintaining momentum across multiple priorities.
*
* Essential Job Functions:
*** Builds and maintains payer coverage and contribution-margin models (e.g., CDM alignment, NDC costs, reimbursement schedules, site-of-care impacts). Run scenario/sensitivity analyses to guide formulary, biosimilar selection, and site optimization.
* Designs Power BI dashboards for KPIs (net revenue per encounter, acquisition cost variance, inventory turns, WAC vs 340B/GPO savings, denial trends). Integrate data from Epic and supply platforms.
* Partners with Revenue Cycle to audit and improve medication charging accuracy (CDM mapping, NDC assignment, pricing updates), investigates billing variances, and coordinates remediation to optimize reimbursement and compliance.
* Maintains a contract repository, tracks expirations, compares terms, monitors price guardrails, and prepares signatory packages (financial impact summaries and risk notes) for the Director/CFO.
* Partners with 340B staff, performs targeted audits/monitoring, analyzes accumulations, and models savings vs. compliance risk (duplicate discounts/diversion prevention).
* Leads projects that streamline workflows, documents current state, and implements standardized work to reduce waste and improves KPI trends.
* Supports business cases (e.g., buy-and-bill expansions, ambulatory infusion), produces forecasting and financial modeling, and forecasts expense/savings tied to payer mix and utilization trends. Coordinates with Supply Chain and Finance to prepare negotiation analyses—price comparisons, rebate potential, formulary impact—ensuring decisions align with patient access and organizational margin goals.
* Collaborates with Informatics and Applications teams to ensure accurate data integration, reporting optimization, and system enhancements supporting pharmacy revenue cycle and operational analytics.
* Ensures work products support regulatory and accreditation expectations (DEA/Board, charging rules, payer requirements) and align with ASHP practice-advancement emphasis on analytics/technology for safety and outcomes.
* Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.###
