Ensures compliance of all medical related issues including donor or tissue acceptability for transplant with current MTF policies and procedures, applicable AATB Standards, and applicable government regulations.

• Authorizes medical/technical policies and procedures approved by the Medical Board of Trustees, relating to donor criteria, tissue recovery, processing, storage and distribution.
• Reviews, approves and signs off on donor records prior to release of tissue for the processing and transplantation. Records to be reviewed by the Associate Medical Director include the following: current medical history, physical exam/inspection and donor laboratory test results, autopsy information (if performed), together with available previous medical history, and all other donor information as required by government regulation and AATB standards.
• Acts as a consultant on issues that pertain to disease transmission donor testing and donor criteria.
• Reviews reports of adverse reactions or incidents involving possible disease transition in conjunction with the Medical Director.
• Provides On Call support to NOCCs.
• Assists on special projects and performs additional duties as assigned.
• Supports case managers with donor eligibility issues and questions.
• Reviews daily IPBB reports.
• Reviews daily residual records.

• Licensed physician in any state.
• Background and experience in infectious disease transmission and/or knowledge and experience in pathophysiology of disease.
• Ability to travel on occasion.
