OverviewThe Stars Improvement Principal, Integrated Plans, is responsible for developing, owning, and managing the Stars enterprise strategy for new integrated Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs). This leader will play a critical role in driving Stars performance and improving quality outcomes for our members by aligning stakeholders across the organization and ensuring execution of strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled strategist with deep expertise in Medicare, Medicaid, and Stars programs, and has a proven record of cross-functional leadership in a matrixed environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the integrated D-SNP Stars contract and improvement strategy, effectively communicating vision and priorities to create alignment and inspire action across the enterprise
Lead and influence key enterprise stakeholders, including Market Leadership, Product, Compliance, Medicaid, and Stars teams, to consensus on contract strategy and Stars performance improvement efforts
Analyze and interpret data on contract performance, market trends, and membership sub-populations, using insights to shape strategic recommendations and educate leadership
Recommend and influence contract structures and consolidations to optimize Stars performance and respond to future market needs
Conduct ongoing market research to monitor changes in the Medicare and Medicaid landscapes, ensuring strategies are responsive to industry trends and competitor activity
Establish and track key performance indicators for strategy success, making data-driven adjustments as needed
Serve as an advanced subject matter expert on integrated D-SNPs, Medicare Stars, and related regulatory requirements, providing strategic guidance to teams across the organization
Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in Stars performance through strong collaboration and relationship-building
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience in healthcare strategy, contract management, or market finance roles
2+ years of proven cross-functional leadership experience
Deep understanding of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, reimbursement methodologies, and industry trends
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies
Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Demonstrated track record of influencing leaders and driving improvement initiatives in a matrixed organization
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and business intelligence tools
Master’s degree
Experience with Medicare Stars, HEDIS, or D-SNP programs
Background in strategic consulting

While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana s offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$138,900 - $191,000 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
