Peer Specialist - live in Detroit Metro Remote position

• Provide peer support for members with behavioral health issues, psychiatric disorders, and chemical dependency
• Serve as a member advocate, offering information, resources, and support in outpatient and inpatient settings
• Assist members in setting and pursuing recovery goals while collaborating with care managers and treatment teams
• Facilitate recovery using established standardized behavioral health processes
• Maintain detailed contact notes and communicate effectively with members

• At least 1 year of healthcare experience, preferably in a peer support capacity, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license, reliable transportation, and adequate auto insurance for job-related travel
• Demonstrated knowledge of community resources and recovery processes
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task between phone and various computer systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

• Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS)
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Previous managed care experience
• Peer support experience in a psychiatric unit or behavioral health facility
• Knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
