Overview

Our client, a leading organization in the pharmaceutical and clinical research industry, is seeking a dedicated Assoc Med Director to join their team. As an Assoc Med Director, you will be an integral part of the Medical Affairs department supporting clinical trial activities and safety monitoring with a focus in Rheumatology. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong therapeutic expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Assoc Med Director

Location: Cambridge, MA (Remote work available)

Pay Range: 120-150/hr on W2

Responsibilities
  • Provide medical oversight of clinical trials to ensure compliance with SOPs, client directives, good clinical practice, and regulatory standards.
  • Attend and present at investigator and sponsor meetings, offering medical consultation to clients, investigators, and project teams.
  • Support business development activities through medical expertise and strategic input.
  • Review and analyze serious adverse events, marketed product reports, and other safety-related deliverables ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage all medical aspects of contracted tasks across the pharmaceutical product lifecycle, including safety monitoring and signal detection activities.
Qualifications
  • MD board certification in Rheumatology or related specialty.
  • Clinical experience in treating patients within the specialty or relevant industry experience in clinical trials or safety/Pharmacovigilance.
  • Strong decision-making, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • Working knowledge of safety databases (e.g., MedDRA), GCP, FDA, ICH, EMA guidelines, and biostatistics.
