Responsibilities
San Marcos Treatment Center, a 212‑bed psychiatric residential treatment facility located between Austin and San Antonio in Central Texas, operates on 65 acres with an abundance of trees and wildlife. It houses 13 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development levels, with two swimming pools, two gymnasiums, a sports court, playing fields, greenhouse, rope course, canteen, social area, and a healing trail.
We provide 24‑hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 6‑17 with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs that teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions and improve social functioning.
This is a remote position from our facility in San Marcos, TX; the Western National Community Liaison will be located in California.
Our Western National Community Liaison acts as a liaison between the facility and referral sources, implements service‑oriented action plans responsive to referral source needs, and serves as a resource and representative to the community. The role includes traveling to assigned territories based on strategic planning, effectively and efficiently planning scheduled trips in advance with pre‑arranged quality appointments with various referral sources.
In collaboration with the Director of Business Development and Business Development Team, the National Community Liaison presents a positive and professional public image of the facility within the community. The position includes weekly travel within the assigned territory.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Military experience also preferred.
Experience: Three years minimum documented experience in referral development, account management, sales growth, and physician relationships preferred. Prior marketing and/or sales experience within a behavioral healthcare setting preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Valid driver’s license.
Skills & Knowledge: Good verbal and written communication skills. Prefer knowledge of the behavioral health marketplace, insurance plans, target markets and referral sources, psychiatric treatment and age‑specific programming. Must possess demonstrated business development concepts, sales abilities, competency in computer usage, and excellent written and oral communication skills; knowledge of and skills in application of marketing and sales principles; creativity and flexibility;
skills in data collection analysis and interpretation; record of adherence to deadlines; customer service skills; willingness to travel, including overnight travel as required.
