Overview
THIS IS NOT A REMOTE WORK POSITION.
My Best Homecare, an established Home Respiratory Medical Equipment provider, currently has the following permanent full-time position available at our San Jose location:
Patient Service Representative (PSR). This is an in-office position. Please do not apply if you are looking for remote work.
The main job responsibilities of the PSR include performing the tasks below as assigned by the manager or supervisor:
- Process new patient orders according to company policies.
- Schedule appointments for equipment setup and delivery.
- Perform scheduled follow-up phone calls to patients using home respiratory medical equipment.
- Perform insurance verification and request insurance authorization if needed.
- Review patient records for relevant up-to-date information before processing patient supply requests.
- Process new patient supply requests and check for delivery confirmation before billing.
- Update patient records for complete and accurate information, such as physician orders, insurance authorizations, equipment serial numbers, and other relevant information.
- Review patient records for completion and accuracy before billing.
- Document control:
Review incoming electronic faxes and emails and file them electronically. - Review and update the manager and supervisor of patient equipment usage data via direct downloads and/or remotely.
- While relevant working experience is a plus, we will consider the right person with no experience who demonstrates an excellent work attitude, is a quick learner, reliable, and detail-oriented.
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
- Excellent English oral and written skills. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Excellent customer service and telephone skills.
- Honest, reliable, and responsible team player.
- Ability to remain seated at the workstation to complete tasks as assigned.
- Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with minimal supervision.
- Ability to focus and to follow detailed instructions accurately and completely.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong typing skills.
- Have basic working knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and private medical insurance.
- Enjoy working with people and am passionate about helping people.
