We are seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Physician Assistant for a locum tenens assignment in Michigan starting Mar 9, 2026. This position offers a 48-day contract with a 4-day, 10-hour workweek, 1 in 4 weeks on call, and one weekend shift per month. The role is focused on rounding and supporting a cardiac and vascular surgery team, with no operating room responsibilities.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Round on cardiac and vascular surgery patients in collaboration with the CV surgical team
• Provide advanced patient care and clinical support to both cardiac and vascular surgeons
• Support patient management throughout the perioperative period
• Communicate and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain thorough and accurate clinical documentation
• Adhere to best practices and institutional protocols

Additional Information

• Board certification as an APP required
• Active Michigan medical license or eligibility preferred
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
• Clean malpractice and license history highly preferred
• Experienced candidates only; new graduates must have relevant experience
