About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join our team on a 6-month contract, working fully from home following a short on-site induction week.
This is an excellent opportunity for an OH professional looking for a flexible, remote contract role, delivering high-quality occupational health services and managing a varied caseload across a large organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a full range of Occupational Health services remotely, including:
- Case management
- Fitness-for-work and safety-critical medicals
- Health surveillance and new starter assessments (virtual/paper-based)
- Provide evidence-based advice to managers and employees on:
- Fitness for work and reasonable adjustments
- Sickness absence management
- Temporary and permanent workplace restrictions
- Attend virtual sickness absence and wellbeing meetings
- Produce clear, concise clinical reports in line with NMC and legal standards
- Maintain accurate clinical records on secure OH systems
- Work autonomously while contributing to a supportive OH team
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Occupational Health (Part 3 desirable)
- Proven experience working as an Occupational Health Advisor
- Strong complex case management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid understanding of occupational health legislation and best practice
- Confident working independently in a remote environment
Desirable
- Experience in a safety-critical or public sector setting
- Mental health training or qualification
- Knowledge of OH law and case law
- Audiometry, spirometry, or vision screening certification
Working Arrangements
- Fully remote / home-based role
- One on-site induction week at the start of the contract
- No routine travel required after induction
- 6-month contract, with potential for extension (if applicable)
