This Work from Home position requires that you live and will perform the duties of the position within 60 miles of an HCA Healthcare Hospital (Our hospitals are located in the following states: FL, GA, , KS, KY, MO, NV, NH, NC, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA).

Job Summary And QualificationsPatient Disability Advisor is responsible for conducting eligibility screenings, assessment of patient financial requirements, filing applications, filing appeals and reviewing medical records. The Patient Disability Advisor is a liaison between the patient, hospital, and governmental agencies and is involved in all case management areas. The Patient Disability Advisor will be a specialized individual who will maintain a work queue which strictly is related to disabled patients.
What you will do in this role:
- Screen and evaluate patients for existing insurance coverage, federal and state assistance programs, or hospital charity applications.
- Obtain legally relevant medical evidence, physician statements and all other documentation required for eligibility determination.
- Complete and file applications. Initiate and maintain proper follow-up with the patient and government agency caseworkers to ensure timely processing and completion of all mandated applications and accompanying documentation.
- Assist the patient with gathering any additional verifications or medical records and meeting appointment dates and times. Maintain structured and timely contact with the patient and agency as outlined in the company standards.
- Provide advocacy work for patients seeking disability benefits through the Social Security Administration (SSI/SSDI) programs and assists with opening claims and assisting with pending claims for the Social Security Administration.
