Overview
Christiana Care is seeking a Director of Provider Compensation to lead all aspects of physician and advanced practitioner clinician (provider) compensation programs to ensure compensation models are developed and administered in compliance with all applicable company policies and government regulations. This position will proactively assess the healthcare industry to aid in aligning provider compensation and total rewards, including incentive plans, to the evolving healthcare environment and serve as a resource to leadership in reviewing all aspects of provider compensation and total rewards throughout the organization.

Responsibilities- Provide leadership and recommendations for developing and implementing innovative, market-competitive provider compensation and total rewards methodologies aligned with the organization s strategic plan and financial objectives.
- Serve as a consultant/subject matter expert to the clinical enterprise on compensation and ensure alignment with the compensation philosophy and business strategy.
- Conduct provider job evaluations, analyze responsibilities and structure, and recommend internal placement by level, title, and FLSA classification.
- Lead market assessment efforts for provider administrative and leadership roles, including cost analysis and routine reporting.
- Lead the RFP process, and the implementation and maintenance of an automated Provider Compensation Payroll solution.
- Conduct market pricing, peer group selection, survey analyses, salary data interpretation, financial modeling, and special project research.
- Work with stakeholders to provide consultative and direct negotiation services for Professional Service Agreements (PSAs) for physician services.
- Lead the preparation and presentation of annual provider compensation program overviews to senior leaders and board committees as needed.
- Oversee timely and accurate processing, administration, auditing, and analysis of provider compensation in coordination with finance and other departments.
- Stay informed of industry and regulatory changes impacting provider compensation and make proactive recommendations to protect the program s financial viability and mitigate compliance risk.
- Lead the development of policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines related to provider compensation, including fair market value and commercial reasonableness.
- Utilize analytical, presentation, and facilitation skills to engage leaders and providers in reviewing and planning provider compensation plans for governance review.
- Develop tools to aid in the presentation, understanding, and communication of provider compensation models and principles.
- Represent Christiana Care in national venues and contribute to the literature on physician compensation reform and best practices.
- Ensure success of the provider compensation strategy through recruitment, selection, management, retention, and development of the Provider Compensation Team; foster a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Bachelor s degree in a business-related field.
- Master s degree required.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience with a focus on provider compensation, benefits administration, and incentive design.
Annual Compensation Range: $ - $. The pay rate represents a good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary will depend on factors including skills, experience, and qualifications relevant to the job requirements.
