Side By Care is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed, Registered Dietitian (RD) to join the multidisciplinary care team. This is a unique opportunity for a dietitian to play a leading role in assessing patients' health history, diet, exercise, stress, sleep, and other health-related habits to address GI issues, provide nutrition and lifestyle counseling to help individuals heal from the inside out, help individuals obtain symptom remission, promote sustainable health practices, and improve quality of life.

We are seeking an applicant that has experience providing one-on-one nutrition counseling, ideally in an outpatient setting, and is interested in holistic health care for people with chronic GI issues. The dietitian will work closely with gut-directed therapists, other dietitians, and GI doctors to provide coordinated, comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

• Counsel patients on nutrition and sustainable lifestyle changes to support GI and overall health
• Provide medical nutrition therapy for GI disorders
• Appropriately document encounters
• Work cooperatively as a team member
• Participate in care coordination meetings with team members
• Promote a healthy relationship with food, exercise, and self for patients
• Communicate as needed with care team and patients outside of their sessions

Candidate Requirements

• RD/RDN credential from the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• RD license in the state of Alabama
• Master’s Degree (preferred)
• Must have your own NPI
• CAQH Login (preferred)
• 2-3 years of nutrition counseling experience
• Ability to respond to patient messages after-hours
• Alignment with holistic approach
• Excitement to learn new skills to deliver the Side By Care model
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Ability to build and maintain rapport with providers and patients
• Private home office space with reliable internet connection

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with individuals with GI disorders
• Functional and integrative health understanding
• Understanding of disordered eating
• Familiarity with mental health treatment
• Working with patients to improve sleep, stress management, exercise and other lifestyle changes to benefit gut health

Skills and abilities

• Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and compassionately with clients, medical providers, and team members
• Is professional and respectful in all forms of communication and correspondence
• Proficient in Google Suite/Workspace, at least one electronic medical record (EMR) system, Zoom (or a comparable remote platform for telehealth), and Slack
• Shows strong initiative, good judgment, and informed decision making to achieve organizational objectives
• Has an uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and puts clients first
• Maintains strict confidentiality of personnel, fiscal, and private health information
• Likes to work in an environment with rapidly changing client care needs
