What You’ll Do

As a Mental Health Therapist at Kolmac, you will be at the center of patient care—building strong therapeutic relationships and delivering high-quality, evidence-based treatment. You’ll lead therapy groups, facilitate individual sessions, and contribute to integrated treatment plans within our collaborative treatment environment.

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy for adults
  • Work in person at our Washington, D.C. location from 12:30–8:30 PM with a flexible one‑day option to work from home
  • Develop and maintain person-centered, trauma‑informed treatment plans
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and level‑of‑care determinations
  • Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment approaches, and symptom management to support insight, empowerment, and recovery
  • Design and deliver engaging process, psycho educational and skills groups focused on emotional regulation, coping skills, and mental wellness
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, nurses, and fellow therapists to provide integrated mental health care
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, case consultations, and discharge planning
  • Provide case management services such as coordinated care with families, referral sources, and external providers as appropriate
  • Demonstrate commitment to excellent patient care, measured through clinical outcomes such as patient retention, attendance, successful program completion, and transition between levels of care
  • Provide crisis support through a shared on‑call rotation
  • Complete clinical documentation accurately and timely
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Licensed Mental Health Therapist with a recognized license in Washington, D.C. or equivalent jurisdiction
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience providing evidence-based psychotherapy to adolescents or adults in an intensive outpatient setting
  • Proficiency in trauma‑informed, evidence‑based modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT) and group facilitation
  • Strong collaboration skills—previous experience working in an interdisciplinary medical team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including timely and accurate clinical documentation
  • Ability to manage caseloads in a hybrid schedule, including flexible evening hours and occasional remote work

Compensation & Schedule

Salary: up to $100,000 annually.

Incentive Compensation:
This position is eligible for additional commission‑based compensation tied to clinical group participation and engagement. Therapists earn additional compensation for each participant in their assigned therapy groups.

Total Compensation:
With consistent group census and strong clinical outcomes, total annual compensation is up to $100,000, with the potential for high performers to earn more based on group volume and engagement.
