• Perform comprehensive audits to assess the integrity of coding and billing for physician and clinical fees
• Identify and correct documentation, coding, and billing errors as well as evaluate medical necessity of services billed
• Develop and execute educational opportunities and resources based on audit results and coding compliance trends
• Lead provider education events to discuss audit results and implement action plans
• Establish positive working relationships as a subject matter expert to ensure understanding of federal coding compliance requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in physician coding and auditing, revenue cycle, or billing related to coding
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; certifications including AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist, AAPC Certified Professional Coder, and AAPC Certified Professional Medical Auditor are necessary
• At least 2 years of professional E&M coding experience and 2 years of E&M provider education experience
• Strong knowledge of E&M regulations and CMS Documentation Guidelines
• Proficient in ICD
  10CM
  , CPT, and HCPCS coding, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• CPC-Certified Professional Coder and/or CCS-P-Certified Coding Specialist-Physician certification upon hire
• CPMA-Certified Professional Medical Auditor certification, to be completed within 1 year
• Successful experience in data abstraction and analyzing patient encounters for focused review
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and generating reports
