Role Summary
Regional Territory Manager in the Portland, OR GI-Rare area within the Gastroenterology Sales Team. You will drive product demand in targeted physician offices and key clinics, build relationships with Health Care Providers and staff, and support Takeda's brand strategy in a patient-focused, clinical selling environment.
Responsibilities- Support account on-boarding, including education and procedures.
- Engage in clinical selling activities, delivering the clinical value proposition and advancing customers along a brand belief continuum.
- Support initial clinical educational support and in-service for medical staff.
- Coordinate and support clinical education opportunities and programs for health care professionals, such as peer-to-peer discussions.
- Conduct account management activities within GI practices, clinics, outlets, and independent physician offices.
- Attain sales goals and objectives by delivering specialty product volume and other key metrics in the assigned Territory; execute brand strategy within assigned customer segments.
- Establish professional relationships with decision makers, support staff, and influencers to support product use through clinical and business expertise and selling skills.
- Develop and deliver targeted sales messages based on accurate clinical information, using approved marketing materials and reprints to support patients and discuss therapeutic strategies with decision makers.
- Execute local marketing strategies, collaborating with company teams to enhance results and build customer engagement with local decision makers in healthcare provider systems and specialty practices.
- Present complex clinical and business information to office and institutional gastroenterologists and other stakeholders involved in decision-making.
- Develop and implement medical education opportunities and sponsor programs to expand knowledge of healthcare professionals; stay educated on disease states, treatments, and market changes.
- Strategically manage allocated resources including budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, and home office support.
- Required: Bachelor’s degree – BA/BS
- Required: A minimum of 5 years direct selling experience to healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotech, device, or healthcare industry
- Required: Discussing therapeutic strategies to inform and influence decision makers
- Required: Developing and applying clinical and business expertise, and effective selling skills
- Required: Executing marketing strategies at the local level
- Required: Strong collaboration within teams
- Required: Strategic planning skills and adaptability to changing market conditions
- Required: Understanding of the managed care landscape and its impact on business
- Required: Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication skills
- Required: Proficiency in teamwork and collaboration
- Required: Reside within or near the assigned geography
- Required: Valid Driver’s License
- Preferred: Experience managing and communicating complex reimbursement issues
- Preferred: Experience in calling on Gastroenterologists
- Bachelor’s degree – BA/BS
- Travel:
Some overnight travel required – 25-50%, depending on geographic assignment; must have a valid US driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to drive and/or fly to meetings and client sites
