Position Overview

Seeking a Health Information Specialist II to support Release of Information (ROI) processing in a remote, work-from-home capacity. This role is critical to ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant handling of medical record requests while safeguarding patient privacy and maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Release of Information (ROI) requests in compliance with HIPAA, company, and client policies
  • Review and fulfill medical record requests accurately and timely
  • Handle subpoenas and legal requests as applicable
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient health information
  • Utilize EMR systems to retrieve and process records
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and leadership
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Training & Onboarding
  • Datavant DHISC training
  • Hands‑on, role‑specific training during the first 30 days
⭐ Skills & Competencies Preferred Skills
  • Prior ROI processing experience
  • Strong computer skills
  • Knowledge of subpoenas and legal medical record requests
Systems & Industry Knowledge
  • EMRs: HPF, Expanse, LAV, Meditech
  • HIPAA, medical terminology, EMR navigation
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Pay ranges for this job title may differ based on location, responsibilities, skills, experience, and other requirements of the role.

The estimated base pay range per hour for this role is:

$16—$20.50 USD

To ensure the safety of patients and staff, many of our clients require post‑offer health screenings and proof and/or completion of various vaccinations such as the flu shot, Tdap, COVID‑19, etc. Any requests to be exempted from these requirements will be reviewed by Datavant Human Resources and determined on a case‑by‑case basis.
