Remote - Credentialing Specialist

Overview

Mercy credentialing coordinator is responsible for coordinates accurate verification of approximately 8,000 practitioner files for initial appointment and reappointment within established time frames and in accordance with the standards required by the accrediting/regulatory agencies for all Mercy Network, Mercy Clinic and Mercy Hospitals. This includes preparing and sending applications, gathering, entering and verifying information received in the application process and communicating verbally and in writing with applicants as necessary to complete their application.

The specialist must be detail oriented and have the ability to understand complex credentialing requirements needed by facility and variances for credentialing in multiple states. Must be deadline driven and can easily adapt to expedited requests. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

• Coordinate accurate verification of approximately 8,000 practitioner files for initial appointment and reappointment within established time frames and in accordance with accrediting/regulatory standards for all Mercy Network, Mercy Clinic and Mercy Hospitals.
• Prepare and send applications; gather, enter and verify information received in the application process.
• Communicate verbally and in writing with applicants as necessary to complete their application.
• Maintain attention to detail and understand complex credentialing requirements and variances for credentialing in multiple states.
• Meet deadlines and adapt to expedited requests.
• Perform duties in a manner consistent with Mercy mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor's degree or previous data entry or credentialing experience may be substituted for education.
• Experience:
  
  Previous credentialing or database entry experience preferred. Applicant must be detail oriented and able to work in a demanding and fast paced work environment. Analytical experience preferred.
• Other:
  Detail oriented. Able to easily adapt to change. Self-starter. Position requires long hours sitting at a computer. Some travel is required. Position requires flexible hours outside of the normal workday.

  Certifications:
  
  Valid certification as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) and/or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) preferred.
• Preferred Education:
  
  Bachelor's degree preferred.
