Position: Pre-Certification Coordinator II (Remote) - Orthopedic Surgery

What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Complete complex pre-certifications for specialized services based on therapy and treatment plans
  • Verify insurance eligibility and authorization information for existing pre-certifications
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and providers to resolve add-ons, denials, and peer-to-peer issues
  • Document all pertinent authorization information in the EPIC system
  • Assist with denials, rejections, and appeals as assigned
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in Clinical Office, Medical Billing, Health Information Management, or Pre-Certification
  • No specific certification/professional license required for this position
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position satisfactorily
  • Strong communication and detail-oriented skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Associate degree
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification
  • Proficiency in Epic EHR and insurance claim processing software
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with strong multitasking abilities
  • Familiarity with medical coding software and insurance terminology
