- The incumbent acts as both a functional and technical analyst in the development, upgrade, enhancement, training and support of business information systems in Epic, 3M Solarity, M-Modal, Plato, Onbase and related HIM systems.
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of system applications Policies and Procedure in relation to Hospital Coding modules.
- Facilitates discussions around billing system software changes and upgrades as needed and/or requested by all applicable users.
- Participates in the analysis and design of data communication links between systems.
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must possess a working knowledge of HL7 and other interface/integration strategies
- Must have working knowledge of client/server systems, relational database structures and reporting tools
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Must be willing to participate in 24 hour on-call rotations as a system duty officer
- Experience using/implementing/supporting an EMR system's legal medical record with understanding of ROI, deficiency tracking and identity mapping
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Current certification in Epic; HIM
- Ability to self‑initiate and effectively problem solve issues
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Ability to apply logical troubleshooting and analysis techniques for the purpose of problem resolution
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
- Experience with creating and effectively providing educational curriculum
- Experience of HIM coding rules and/or working within HIM
- Bachelors Degree in related field
