Role Description

The Manager, Medical Information will provide high-quality medical support to LEO's US affiliate, healthcare professionals, patients, and other stakeholders. This role will ensure that medical information content is accurate, scientifically balanced, and evidence-based for assigned products, including a biologic product. This position is dynamic, proactive, strategic, and fast-paced, and will work in close collaboration across the US Affiliate, Global Medical Information (GMI) colleagues, and MI outsourcing vendor.

This is a hybrid role, based in LEO's Madison, NJ home office.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary day-to-day contact for the MI outsourcing vendor; manage escalations and ensure timely, accurate resolution of complex inquiries.
  • Provide clear, balanced, scientifically accurate verbal and written responses to internal and external MI inquiries.
  • Develop, maintain, and update local standard response letters (SRLs), FAQs, Data-on-File documents, and MI website content to ensure currency and scientific quality.
  • Monitor inquiry volume, response quality, and KPI metrics; identify trends, flag potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform literature searches, scientific reviews, and analysis to support responses and internal stakeholders.
  • Support promotional and medical material review to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Provide product- and process-related training for internal and external (vendor) team members; assess and update local training materials as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships (medical, sales, marketing, regulatory, global) to align MI services with business needs.
  • Support audits of MI activities and ensure local procedures and work instructions align with global policies.
  • Contribute to global MI (GMI) strategy and departmental projects, and support medical booth activities at congresses with balanced, non-promotional HCP engagement.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of ethics, governance, industry codes, regulations, data protection, and company policies; ensure compliance in all MI activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s (BS/BA) degree in a health science required; experience as a healthcare professional (e.g., pharmacist, nurse) highly preferred.
  • 1‑3 years’ experience or equivalent in a Medical Information role in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong and high level of scientific knowledge to be able to analyze various data, including clinical study reports and published medical literature in all forms.
  • Strong technical/scientific writing skills and verbal communication, including face‑to‑face with healthcare professionals and presenting to a variety of audiences.
  • High level technical and compliance skills when reviewing promotional material and other high-level process driven documentation.
  • Knowledge and efficiency in Medical Information systems.
  • Strong medical literature searching and evaluation skills.
  • Prior experience successfully working with global and/or local cross‑functional teams.

The base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $155,000 per year. Salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
