Position
:
Division Quality and Performance Manager. You will serve as the designated senior planner and policy analyst for regulatory and licensing functional activities of high visibility and high sensitivity, including the authority to make credential issuance or denial decisions, as delegated by the Secretary of Health, boards, commissions, department policy, and statute. As the HSC 4, you will assume section manager responsibilities in the absence of the Credentialing Manager and assist with managing workloads and providing consultation to other staff and supervisors.

You’ll support the department’s mission of protecting and improving the health of people in Washington State by implementing public health policies to license only qualified providers. You’ll recommend rules (WACs), lead and train Health Service Consultant 3 credentialing supervisors, and provide assistance to the Credentialing Manager with legislative review.
The Health System Quality Assurance division helps prevent injuries, develop health systems, and improve patient safety by working closely with communities and local health partners. Our over 500 employees regulate and support more than 463,000 health professionals in 85 health professions and 11,000 health groups and programs.
By serving as a senior subject matter expert for all Credentialing Section Supervisors, you’ll help us support critical health services in Washington.
Key Responsibilities- Serves as the designated department expert/specialist to inform and educate state policy makers, program administrators, and the public about the importance of and requirements for the regulation of health professions and facilities.
- Provides leadership and direction to the credentialing section. Develops work plans with goals, objectives, timelines, and tasks. Assigns work and manages section workload.
- Coaches HSC3 Credentialing Supervisors to meet critical deadlines and manages assigned work from Division Director of Performance and Quality.
- Provides consultation and assistance to Credentialing Supervisors and Credentialing Specialists within the HSQA Division.
- Assists Office Directors and sections with legislative review process, develops health policies through the legislative bill review process, evaluates the credentialing impacts of proposed legislation, evaluates legislative requests and makes recommendations for amendments, and trains HSC 3 credentialing supervisors on new policies and procedures.
- Develops policies and procedures for changes to existing professions, analyzes business needs, creates applications, and supports program managers. Implements and operationalizes new policies, procedures, rules, and legislative requirements.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote work with in-office collaboration. It is open to applicants located anywhere in Washington State. You may work from home or our office in Tumwater, WA. In-office work or event attendance is infrequent and scheduled in advance.
