This role is field-based and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. This geography covers all of New Mexico, with Albuquerque as the primary city, extending south to El Paso and the surrounding areas.
Responsibilities- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those targets.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance. Effectively handle objections and gain calls to action to close on sales calls.
- Aspire to serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between Abb Vie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease states, product, clinical and sales knowledge; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy and execution.
- Differentiate Abb Vie s value proposition with health providers and identify disease state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance.
- Bachelor s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience; experience in lieu of a bachelor s degree may be acceptable.
- Relevant industry experience in the pharmaceutical/health/science field; five (5) years of experience with at least three (3) years within the industry preferred, and a high school diploma/GED required.
- Strong scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders; strong business acumen; proficient with business tools; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Proven track record in selling with solid presentation skills; able to identify customer styles/behavior and adapt selling approaches accordingly.
- Influences others and is seen as a credible, respected resource; builds collaborative partnerships across districts and matrix teams; leads by example and coaches peers through change.
- Documented leadership experience with increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred:
Proven sales success in the relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing;
English proficiency in speaking and writing (for all non-English speaking contexts). - HCIR credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
- These HCIR requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and state/city-specific licenses. Ensure all requirements are satisfied;
Abb Vie provides resources to assist as needed. - Valid driver s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
- Ability to drive a personal vehicle or company car/truck, or operate related equipment as needed.

Individual compensation will depend on factors including location and may be higher or lower than posted. This range may be modified in the future.
