Facility: Remote ND (Fargo) • Location: Fargo, ND • Shift: 8 Hours - Day Shifts • Job Schedule: Full time • Weekly Hours: 40.00 • Salary Range: $31.00 - $46.50

Responsibilities
  • The Behavioral Health Therapist requires a broad and thorough understanding of human behavior, theories of counseling, and psychopathology, and may work with a wide range of patient populations and presenting issues. Provides diagnostic assessment, onsite crisis assessment and intervention, and determines need for ongoing care according to clinical ability, medical, and psychosocial complexity.
  • Develops treatment plans and implements interventions tailored to patient needs; continually assesses progress and revises diagnoses, treatment plans, and interventions as needed.
  • Documents treatment sessions and provides patient progress updates to the interdisciplinary team, as needed.
  • Educates patient support members about patient issues and interventions; may refer for additional clinical services or to specialists as needed.
  • Stays current on emerging issues in the profession.
  • Works in various settings with duties varying by setting (clinic, community, or residential).
  • In clinic settings, conducts scheduled face-to-face therapy sessions to assess and improve emotional, mental, and behavioral health.
  • In community settings, provides treatment for patients with severe and persistent mental illness, including interventions to improve daily living and self-regulation, and serves as a consultant to a multidisciplinary team.
  • In residential settings, provides higher level care, including assessment, individual and group therapy, program development and evaluation, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Credentialing through the Allied Health Staff of the organization is required and must be completed prior to start (typical time from offer acceptance 60-90 days).
Qualifications

Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related Behavioral Health Sciences required; graduation from an accredited school preferred.

In Iowa—Must have one of the following licenses in good standing (must be licensed in all four states listed below to start):

  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
  • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW)

In Minnesota—Must have one of the following:

  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)

In North Dakota—Must have one of the following:

  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

In South Dakota—Must have one of the following, dependent upon work setting:

  • Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health (LPC-MH)
  • Certified Social Worker - Private or Independent Practice (CSW-PIP)
