New Season Treatment Centers has been a leading national health care service provider of outpatient treatment centers for over 30 years. We specialize in medication‑assisted treatment, counseling, support and care management for individuals living with Opioid Use Disorder ("OUD").
Telecounselor ITelecounselors provide individual counseling services via a HIPAA‑compliant, synchronous video platform to patients across New Season’s clinics in the United States. They may work remotely and must adhere to assigned schedules based on clinic assignments and patient needs.
Job SummaryTeam members work within a multidisciplinary treatment team including a Medical Director, Program Director, Treatment Services Coordinator, Counselors, and Nurses to identify and meet the clinical needs of patients and support their overall well‑being.
Essential Functions- Perform individual counseling with assigned patients via synchronous video communication.
- Educate patients on all aspects of treatment, health issues, and steps to recovery.
- Maintain a performance standard of 50% of hours worked in direct one‑on‑one patient contact each month.
- Complete tele‑counseling screening, psychosocials, DAP notes, individualized treatment plans, reassessments, and all other program‑related documentation within required time frames.
- Work with patients to complete intake, admission, discharge and transfer paperwork as needed.
- Document patient progress and complete organization and state‑mandated forms in the electronic health record and any other required systems.
- Maintain file compliance and correct any documents or files found out of compliance.
- Identify clinical or case management needs and work to address them.
- Establish and maintain communication with assigned clinic leadership and support staff; respond to emails within one business day and maintain a live updated shared calendar for patient scheduling.
- Report patient abuse, neglect and exploitation as required.
- Report patient grievances as required.
- Coordinate urine drug screens with clinic liaisons and complete required documentation.
- Read and understand General, program and state‑specific policy and procedures manuals.
- Ensure compliance with 42 CFR Part 2 and 45 CFR Parts 160 & 164 (HIPAA).
- Maintain proper licensure and/or certification per state requirements and program needs.
- Participate in preparation for surveys and inspections by CARF, the State, DEA, Board of Pharmacy and other regulatory agencies.
- Attend all staff meetings and assigned clinic treatment team meetings as scheduled.
- Attend individual and group supervisions as scheduled.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, federal and group policies.
- Act in the best interests of the program and company; honor, support and protect proprietary data.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by clinic, region or corporate leadership.
- Education/Licensure/Certification: Master’s degree in a human services related field. Preferred independent counseling license (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT or equivalent) in the state of assignment with at least one year at current license level; consideration may be given to registered interns under supervision who will obtain unrestricted licensure within 90 days of hire.
- Experience: Knowledge and background in substance abuse and/or tele‑counseling services is preferred.
