We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE DIETARY AIDE positions.

Shelby Baptist - 1000 1st Street N, Alabaster, AL 35007.

Schedule:

Full-time and part-time. Three 12-hour shifts, one half-day shift per week and rotating weekends/holidays. More details upon interview.

Requirement:
Food service experience required. Willing to train.

Fixed Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour.

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, providing services that include helping patients make menu selections, assembling, delivering and picking up meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature.

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements or restrictions.
• Collaborate with caregivers and the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for allergies and sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, religious preferences, or when patients inquire about additional selections.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection; retrieve trays from patient rooms at scheduled times.
• Comply with regulator standards (federal, state, JCAHO) and adhere to facility confidentiality and patient rights (HIPAA).
• Follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for food handling, cleaning work stations, and breaking down tray lines.
• Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians, including monitoring patients on specific diets or calorie counts as required.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Complete daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver/push food delivery carts.
