Overview and Responsibilities Respiratory Therapist or RN – Home Healthcare

Deliver Care Where It Matters Most – In the Patient’s Home

Rotech Healthcare Inc. is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Respiratory Therapist (RT) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. If you’re looking for a meaningful role that allows you to build relationships, provide hands‑on care, and make a lasting impact in patients’ lives—all outside of a traditional clinical setting—this is the opportunity for you.

In this role, you’ll provide in‑home respiratory therapy and clinical support to patients using ventilators, oxygen therapy, and other advanced equipment. You’ll be part of a team that values autonomy, patient education, and personalized care.

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct in‑home patient assessments and provide clinical education on respiratory equipment.
  • Adjust ventilator settings based on patient needs and physician orders.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot advanced respiratory equipment to ensure optimal function.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services and patient interactions.
  • Provide ongoing phone support and follow‑up care for respiratory patients.
  • Participate in on‑call rotations and drive a company vehicle for home visits (as needed).
  • Support training and orientation of new clinical staff.
What You Bring
  • Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) or Registered Nurse (RN), depending on state requirements.
  • High school diploma or GED (required); completion of an accredited respiratory therapy or nursing program (preferred).
  • Home healthcare experience or familiarity with respiratory care in a non‑hospital setting (preferred).
  • Strong communication, documentation, and patient education skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required for home visits).

Qualifications
  • Background check (company‑wide). Results will not be used automatically to disqualify individuals.
  • Drug screen (when applicable for the position).
  • Compliance with healthcare facility credentialing process (when applicable for the position).
  • Valid driver’s license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable for the position).
Required Education and or Experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, required.
  • Credentials as a respiratory therapist, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) is preferred but other medical credentials may be acceptable.
  • Must be licensed in primary state of home office as required by state law and provide a copy of license to the location.
  • May be required to obtain license in neighboring states as required by service area of location.
Preferred Education and or Experience
  • Completion of an accredited program/degree in respiratory care preferred.
  • Nursing or other paramedical training may be acceptable depending on state licensure laws.
  • Home respiratory care experience is preferred.
  • Degree in respiratory therapy or related science is preferred.
  • One year of related work experience, preferred.
