Position: Health Psychology LPC / LCSW
Location: St. Louis

REMOTE OPPORTUNITY! St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute (SLBMI) is seeking Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Clinical Social Workers with expertise and a passion in the area of Health Psychology. We are committed to growth and are always looking to hire exceptional talent to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals.

Note Local candidates in MO preferred, but not required. We are open to eligible candidates located outside of the St. Louis region who may be interested in joining our team through providing telehealth services. Interested candidates for this option must be professionally licensed in Missouri.

Shift: Monday‑Friday, day shift. Onsite & Remote work available.

Responsibilities
  • Provide psychotherapy for the treatment of a wide variety of medical conditions and health‑related issues.
  • Address the interaction between physical, psychological, and social factors in health management.
  • Treat conditions such as cancer, chronic pain, diabetes, cardiac problems, movement problems.
  • Serve in the role of a clinician in the Health Psychology Program, primarily in traditional individual outpatient therapy, with opportunity to run outpatient groups related to Health Psychology.
  • Encourage additional subspecialty interests and training, tailoring caseload according to expertise and competencies.
About the Health Psychology Program
  • Clinicians in this program address the interaction between physical, psychological, and social factors in health management.
  • They provide psychotherapy for various medical conditions and health‑related issues.
  • Examples include cancer, chronic pain, diabetes, cardiac problems, movement problems, and treatment modalities such as biofeedback, pre‑surgical psychological evaluations.
  • The majority of the caseload includes traditional individual outpatient therapy with opportunities to run outpatient groups.
  • Clinicians are encouraged to pursue additional subspecialty interests and training.
  • Caseload can be tailored to expertise and competencies.

Onboarding Options

The Onboarding Model offers a full‑time base salary guarantee (benefits‑eligible) transitional plan, typically four months, to allow new providers time to build their caseload. For providers with more general clinical experience, a Specialist‑in‑Training model may be considered: a six‑month transitional plan including reduced caseload, weekly supervision, reading, didactic sessions, increased conceptualization, open supervision, and program discussion.

Qualifications
  • Completed a Master's or Doctoral degree in a clinical mental health field (e.g., MSW, Professional Counselor, Ph.D.).
  • Fully licensed by the State of Missouri to practice independently.
  • Credentialed‑eligible for managed care panels in Missouri (required 90‑day wait for insurance credentialing).
