Overview
MARC, Inc. is seeking a Group Home Manager to oversee a residence of individuals with developmental disabilities. This full-time position is responsible for daily operations of the home, including managing finances, ensuring proper nutrition, documentation, scheduling staff, accompanying residents to medical appointments, reporting health status changes to the nurse, and coordinating with day service staff. The ideal candidate will have compassion, experience assisting adults with special needs, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and good judgment.
Full-Time position available with flexible hours to include nights and weekends.
- Oversee all aspects of daily operations in the group home, including scheduling, staff coordination, and resident support plans.
- Ensure individualized care plans are implemented effectively and updated as needed.
- Promote a home environment that supports dignity, independence, and community integration for residents.
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate direct support professionals.
- Develop staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance management, and professional development.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., licensing requirements, Medicaid, HCBS Waiver).
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation, including incident reports, medication administration records (MARs), and progress notes.
- Prepare for and participate in inspections, audits, and reviews.
- Coordinate medical appointments and other support services for residents. Communicate doctor’s orders and update staff logs of any medication changes.
- Follow up with supervisor and house nursing.
- Act as a liaison with families, guardians, service coordinators, and other professionals.
- Advocate for the rights and well-being of residents.
- Monitor household budgets, review financial books weekly, and monitor household funds daily.
- Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of the home to ensure safety and comfort.
- Convene and chair quarterly house meetings.
- Manage inventory and supplies responsibly.
- Write and present reports documenting progress on residents’ IP goals.
- Perform monthly residence fire drills and complete home inspection forms.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Residential Director.

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years in human services; two years in a supervisory role preferred.
- Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, PMT and DDS Medication Administration Certification within six months of hire and maintain throughout employment at MARC, Inc.
- Ability to act quickly and remain calm in a crisis.
- Valid driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle to transport people served as needed.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to complete all essential job duties, minimum qualifications, and physical efforts with or without a disability.
- Frequent sitting, walking, standing, and driving.
- Ability to stand, sit, use a telephone, and type at a computer.
- Ability to lift and transfer up to 30 lbs. and assist with non-ambulatory individuals as needed.
